Alambic’s Special Islay Malt

„Bourbon Barrel“

 

 

 Jahrgang 2011, 11 years old, Islay Single Malt Whisky
 Aroma: Eindeutig ein klassischer Islay! Der Torfrauch umspielt eingelegte gelbe Früchte, neben gesalzenem Karamell sind Vanillenoten präsent. Die Aromen sind cremig, sahnig und auch ein wenig buttrig mit einer leichten Persipansüße.
Geschmack: Unerwartet kräftig und explosiv breiten sich die Aromen im Mundraum aus. Wieder spürt man den süßen Torfrauch deutlich, es erinnert an rauchige Zuckerwatte. Das gesalzene Karamell ist im Geschmack ebenfalls zu finden, daneben kommen Noten von ungesüßtem Milchkaffee, Butterkeksen und etwas getrocknetem Oregano durch. Die in der
Nase sehr deutliche Fruchtnote ist nur dezent vorhanden, dafür findet man im Geschmack Aromen von kräftigen Nüssen und Schokolade, wie auch Karamell das immer intensiver wird. Der Abgang ist lang und etwas herb, mit sahnig weichen Elementen.
Der kräftige und wuchtige Islay Südküste Whisky lässt das Wasser im Mund zusammenlaufen.
